Downsview Park | Sesquicentennial Trail

Location: North York, Ontario, Canada

Landscape Architect: FORREC

Developer: Canada Lands Company

Contractor: Cambium Site Contracting

The Downsview Park Sesquicentennial Trail has officially opened to commemorate the 150th anniversary of Confederation. The park was designed by Canadian artist John Dickson and Scott Torrance of FORREC, and incorporates public art and visuals to create an engaging and captivating experience for pedestrians. Hauser worked collaboratively with FORREC & Cambium Site Contracting in the design and engineering of the custom curved surface-mount Timber Benches located in the park. Powdercoated aluminum, stainless steel hardware, and oiled Ipe tropical hardwood slats combine to deliver a product that not only complements the park design, but also meets the durability and longevity required for high-traffic public areas.
