The “Grand Pergola” at MacLachlan College, 337 Trafalgar Road in Oakville, is a striking modern outdoor feature that creates a defined gathering space within the school’s courtyard. Constructed from sturdy, square-profile steel beams finished in sleek black, it has a clean, minimalist look that contrasts elegantly with the heritage architecture of the campus. Its open-slat roof provides partial shade while still allowing sunlight to filter through, casting dynamic striped shadows across the stone paver patio beneath.

Set on a spacious paved courtyard, the pergola anchors the outdoor area and is complemented by contemporary seating elements nearby, encouraging social interaction and outdoor learning. With its combination of durability, modern design, and functionality, the pergola serves as both a focal point and a versatile shelter for students and staff, blending seamlessly into the landscaped setting of this historic campus.
